Montgomery County Republican Party Announces Vigil Honoring Charlie Kirk Saturday, September 20, 2025- Courthouse Square Park, Rockville, MD
Rockville, Md., September 17, 2025 – The Montgomery County Republican Party (MCGOP) today announced a public remembrance vigil to honor the life and legacy of conservative leader Charlie Kirk. The community gathering will take place Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at 20 Courthouse Square Park in Rockville, Maryland.
Charlie Kirk was the founder and executive director of Turning Point USA, a non-profit organization focused on engaging young people with conservative values and principles. On September 10, Kirk was fatally shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University in what authorities have described as politically motivated assassination.
The vigil will bring together Mr. Kirk’s supporters and community members to reflect on his contributions and celebrate the values he championed. The program will include speakers, tributes, and prayers.
“The vigil is an opportunity for our community to come together in unity—grieving our loss while lifting up the vision Charlie stood for,” said Reardon Sullivan, Chair of the Montgomery County Republican Party. “We welcome all who wish to remember his leadership and impact.”
“In moments like this, we draw strength from one another,” added event organizer Mary Beth Albertini. “We’ll honor Charlie’s short but remarkable life and commit to carrying forward the principles he so passionately promoted among our nation’s youth.”
